CAPTION TEXT ON PRINT:

Sheba, Toledo Zoo 1972
The Bengal tiger, Sheba, growled her warning to visitors who dared to approach the cage where she and her cub lived at the Toledo Zoo, in what is now the Carnivore Café.
Dr. Charles Hardin, the veterinarian at the zoo, said the 14-year-old was as wild as the day she arrived in Toledo from India. The little queen at Sheba’s side was about 10 weeks old when this photo was taken. The cub was named Tigger, after the striped animal in the Winnie the Pooh children’s stories. Tigger was Sheba’s 15th offspring. The cub’s daddy was Tuffy, a Bengal tiger sent to Toledo from Vietnam by American troops who hand-fed him.
